The Table above shows the top 15 employing occupations within the Wyoming Services Division. The industry is expected to grow 7.5 percent by the year 2006. Services has a variety of occupations within the industry, as can be seen in the Table above. All of the major groups are expected to grow within the industry with the exception of Motion Pictures (SIC 78), which is projected to decline modestly; and Educational Services (SIC 82), which is projected to have a decline of over 2,000 individuals. As the number one employing industry division in Wyoming, this group is a driving force in the state’s economy.

“This division included establishments primarily engaged in providing a wide variety of services for individuals, businesses and government establishments, and other organizations. Hotel and other lodging places; establishments providing personal, business, repair, and amusement services; health, legal, engineering, and other professional services; educational institutions; membership organizations, and other miscellaneous services, are included.
Establishments which provide specialized services closely allied to activities covered in other divisions are classified in such divisions.”

The Services Division employed 76,978 individuals in 1996. SIC 80 Health Services and SIC 70 Hotels, Rooming Houses, Camps, and Other Lodging employed the most people. SIC 73 and SIC 83 are the only other major groups that employ over ten percent of the industry’s total. The Services Division is the largest employing industry of all ten industries.
